BBQ Pulled Pork in the slow cooker

A tangy and sweet barbecue sauce that is easy to make and a perfect complement to slow-braised meat.  Leftover sauce can be used up as flavoring for chicken or in a stir-fry for a quick and tasty weeknight meal.

Instructions
  1. Place pork shoulder in cast iron or other skillet and gently brown on all sides on medium-high heat. Transfer to slow cooker.
  2. Whisk remaining ingredients together in a bowl. Pour over pork and set slow cooker to low for 4-6 hours.
  3. Remove pork from slow cooker and let it rest for 15 minutes. Using 2 forks gently pull apart into smaller pieces. Set aside.
  4. Transfer sauce from slow cooker to a small saucepan. Bring to boil and then simmer until the sauce is reduced by half. Spoon sauce over pork and serve.
